Amaya's World

I can't help but share this little funny story. Ever since Amaya learned how to read and learned a lot of things from school, feeling ko nalito na ang bunso ko. Here's what I mean:

Amaya (reading her Filipino book): KA-MA-TI

Grech: KAMATIS, Amaya with an S.

Amaya: oh, madami pala.

Me and my 2 older daughters can't help but really laugh our hearts out... Haay Amaya!!!

Amaya's 1st Day at School

Yesterday, June 14, was Amaya's first day at SilverCrest. Instead of the 3 hour period, the principal (Tr. Johnel Aguilera) decided to make it just 2 hours, warm-up period and then next week will be the start of the regular 3 hour period. So let me share with you my dear blogger readers how it went.

I know how big her name tag is.

They are 15 in class, girl power
it is.

to let our kids bring their jackets, it
is an air-conditioned classroom.

Orientation Day

It has been ages since the last time I blogged. Sorry folks, mommy duties first and now I have a lot of stories to tell about Amaya's first time to go to school. As in. Anyway, let me start with the orientation yesterday held at the gymnasium of Lipa City College which is few blocks away from the school. As we entered the gymnasium, we registered first and the teachers gave us this bag, which is FREE and should be used by the students.

by the kindergarten students

After the orientation, the parents were toured all over the campus, sorry no pictures because I have 3 bags with me at that time. My own bag, the back pack of Amaya which carried her books and other stuff plus the bag, picture above. But I will definitely blog about the school where my daughter goes to.

Inside the bag are 6 notebooks provided by the school as well. 5 notebooks for the respective subjects and 1 composition notebook for their assignments.

were provided by the school

After the Orientation, Amaya and I went to the printing office to get her I.D and we got it already and Amaya is officially a student now. She was really happy when she got her I.D. She said to me: MOM, GANDA KO ANO?! Hahahaha! That's what you call self confidence, yun nga lang napasobra.
Amaya's I.D. which makes
her officially a student.

Amaya and I ate lunch at Mcdonald's which is near the said school. After lunch we went home to rest. As in I really got tired. When my eldest daughter arrived home from her 1st day as a high school student, she gave me a list of what are the things she needed for school. So off to the mall to buy the things she needed as well as Amaya's.

Amaya which will be placed in the

Amaya: Ready for School

Last Week I finished buying all of the things that Amaya will be needing for the coming school year. She will be in Kinder at Silver Crest, the elementary department of Lipa City Colleges (LCC). The time I chose for her is from 10:45 a.m. to 1:45 p. Why this schedule? Since Amaya sleeps quite late at night, and she is having a difficult time waking up early, this is the most suitable time for her. Yeah I am also excited for her but at the same time nervous as well. Last Tuesday morning I went to LCC to ask if the school uniform is already available, unfortunately we have to wait until the first week of July for the uniform.. That means 2 weeks of ordinary clothes for her. While the notebooks will be distributed on the 1st day of school...

Amaya's Assessment

Yesterday morning Amaya, Ate Arielle and I went to Silvercrest for Amaya's assessment so that we could know if she will be in preparatory due to her age (she is 5 years old) or will start at kindergarten. So Tr. Johnel Aguilera attended to her. He brought her to the playroom/library for the kids. The assessment took 20 minutes. When they came back, Tr. Johnel and I talked. He told me that when it comes to verbal and conversation, numbers, Amaya is doing a great job. But she is not yet that familiar with the letters and is not yet good in writing.

Tr. Johnel told me that there 3 types of learner: THE VISUAL LEARNER, AUDITORY LEARNER and THE KINESTHETIC LEARNER. Amaya belongs to the 3rd group. Meaning that she could focus on 2 different things at the same time. I have learned a lot from the explanations of Tr. Johnel. He told me that I should be the one to adjust to Amaya instead of the other way around. If that will be the case ndi din naman ma-aabsorb ni Amaya yung tinuturo ko if I will pursue what I want. This is not SPOILING her, it is just her needs when it comes to learning is some what different from other kids her age.
So when I got home yesterday, I google what is really a KINESTHETIC LEARNER and here is what I found in Wikipedia.

KINESTHETIC LEARNING - is a learning style in which learning takes place by the student actually carrying out a physical activity rather that listening to a lecture or merely watching a demonstration. It is also referred to as TACTILE LEARNING. People with kinesthetic learning style are also commonly known as doers. These type of learners make about 5% of the population.

So right now instead of the basic up-down, straight lines and others that I her to learn, I might have to teach her how to write the letters and numbers already. Whew! I believe patience and understanding will have to be my best buddies in the coming days.

Amaya's 1st Assessment

Yesterday Amaya and I went to SilverCrest, the elementary division of Lipa City Colleges. We arrived at exactly 1 pm. Sir Johnel, the principal, gladly accommodated us. We went inside his office and the first thing he asked was how old is Amaya, I said she just turned 5 last December. Yup to my fellow readers, I know this age is late for she should have went to a day care or pre-school. But due to money "shortage" we weren't able to enroll her but here at home I make sure that she will not be left behind. Anyway that will be for another blog though.

On with my story, as Sir Johnel asked his first question, which she could answer without batting an eyelash, what is your name? Then she started to cover her eyes with her hands and said, I Can't See You. hahaha! There it goes my dear readers. She never said a single word. So what Sir Johnel did was he brought me and Amaya to the playroom (and I tell you it is well equipped with educational toys and books, will be blogging about the school...sooon). There I didn't join sir Johnel and Amaya. And there I heard her finally answer few questions given by Sir Johnel. And that put a smile on my face.

After the school tour, Sir Johnel told me to come back on the 2nd week of May for further evaluation of Amaya. And he reserved a spot already for Amaya. So within now and May, I have to teach Amaya how to write and some basic reading so she could go directly to preparatory. So now I am looking where to buy PATIENCE.... hahaha!

Confidence...

Just this morning, while I was busy tweeting my youngest daughter, Amaya, came up and faced me, said this line: "MOM, LOOK AT MY FACE." So I looked at her face, and she said this:
"IT'S PRETTY..." Hahaha! I have never laughed so hard until this morning because of her. I guess my daughter has TOO MUCH CONFIDENCE that she is pretty.

A Little Sakit na Lang

Yesterday Amaya has colds and slight fever. So I took really good care of her. And this morning, she greeted me Good morning! Mom, I'm not sick anymore. And I said to her, that's good bebe ko. And now that I realize that she is really fine. Here is why:

Mom (me): Amaya kindly pick up your toys and keep it na.

Amaya: Mommy, sakit pa head ko, a little lang...(sabay higa sa bed)

Hahaha!

Amaya: Okay...Okay... Wala ng fireworks?!

What my hubby did sa kakulitan ng anak ko?! Tinulugan. Hahaha! To think that her birthday will be on the 20th of the month...

Our Usual Conversation

This morning after Amaya took her bath and I was putting her clothes on we had this conversation and I should have seen it coming...Know why.

Me: Amaya, where do you want to go on you birthday? (to think next month pa)
Amaya: Mom, Mcdo lang. (McDonald's in short...)

Me: wow! how nice naman...sure anak...

Amaya: then I will seat on the chair...

Me: (starting to wonder already) of course Amaya we will definitely seat...(akala siguro take out na lang)

Amaya: then I will be in a long dress and then blow the candle sa cake.

Me: ngek! party pala ang gusto mo. (hahaha!) Tell your tatay about it.

Lesson: never ask again. Hahaha! She remembered the last party we went to. Ayun tuwing dadaan kami ng Mcdo, may party daw dun. Hahaha!

Mom I'm a cow kasi

A while ago I told my daughter to stand up kasi magdudumi na naman yung knees niya. Ginagaya kasi niya yung nasa vcd niya na Hi-5. The person is doing the cow thing. So si Amaya naman luhod kasi ginagaya nga niya. So I screamed already to stand up, to think she took her bath already. So stand up naman ang bunso....Eto na ang maganda, after a few minutes, I saw her again nakaluhod, this time, hinila na niya yung shorts niya up to her knees. O hindi nga naman madudumihan ang knees niya, good luck naman sa paglalaba.... *toink*

My Apprentice

Two Sundays ago my whole family went on a grocery shopping. After that we all decided to eat our snacks within the the grocery area. While we were eating a common friend of mine and Francis, who is a girl, passed by. Gentleman my husband is, he greeted our friend. After he greeted her Amaya pulled her tatay's collar with matching pandidilat ng mga mata. I told her that the person is a friend. She replied with a: NO! Hahahahaha!!! There goes my apprentice....

Shake Your Booty...

A few days ago, Amaya saw her rubber duckie and started to press it and obviously it made noise. Now what her tatay did, was shake his body every time Amaya presses the rubber duckie. After a while, probably Francis got tired of shaking his body, he placed the duckie in a higher place that Amaya can't even reach it. So what my daughter did: she quacked and quacked and told his father: "O tatay, shake you booty na..." And Francis just shook his head instead.

hahahahaha!!!!

"Di ba ate, my turn na?!"

Last Friday night, I allowed my two older girls to play their father's psp. And I told my youngest daughter that she could play also but has to wait for her turn. A few hours later my eldest daughter, Ate Arielle told me that the psp is low batt already. So I said, better charge it or else tatay will get mad at us. So while the psp was charging, the girls were still playing, and then I heard my youngest daughter said to her ate: Di ba ate charging pa yan? tapos my turn na ha?! Hahahaha! That's my girl....hahahaha!

Amaya's World

This is a page all about Amaya's everyday antics, the way she answers our questions, and the way she talks to us. I hope that you will enjoy this and have a good laugh, one way or another.

This happened, if I believe, when she was 3 years old. We were in a tricycle, a form of transportation here in the Philippines, to go somewhere. It was raining when we went out.

Me: Look Amaya it's raining.

Amaya: No mom, it's water.

*toink*

hahahaha! I have never laugh so hard and when I had a chat with my 2 older daughters and my hubby they all laughed.
