My Favorite Games

I am not the techie-type of person but ever since iPad2 was launched last year, I've been wanting to own one. So last November 2011, hubby gave in and bought me one. So far I am enjoying every minute of it, though the first two weeks, I was having a difficult time using it. Right now I am using the gadget for checking emails, twitter, facebook, doing some drafts for my blog. And half of it, my daughters and I are enjoying the free games we have downloaded (uploaded). So for my Top 5 this week, the games I am really fond of (as well as my daughters).

1. TEMPLE RUN - This is the one game my daughters and I are really addicted to. You have to run, jump, slide and at the same time try to collect the coins along the way. One would notice that the more coins you collect the faster it will go. So far among my us, I have the highest score.

2. WOOORDS - Since I love word games. I downloaded this. There are 3 modes here: the Classic, which provides you with 9 letters and you have to form words from it. Daily Words you could challenge your friends in this mode. Word Jam this is about reaching the target score within the word and time limit.

3. DRAGONVALE - It is like making a village of dragons. One will have to feed it, look after it, make it beautiful so that little people could visit your place. I am just starting in this game that is why I am still in a lower lever. But I am enjoying it. By the way, you could breed your dragons here.

4. TALKING GINA - This is the one game that I always tweet about. This game makes me stress a lot. One will have to feed Gina. By the way Gina is a giraffe. She could say what you're saying. And most of all she loves to play and will enjoy playing with you. In every level of the game there are 3 stars to complete. One has to complete this to go to the next stage. So far I am in level 15 already. My daughters and I love talking Gina.

5. SMURFS - Since smurfs has been an "IN" thing lately, even in the games they have these cute blue people. It is like building your own village. Do whatever papa smurf tells you so that you could get those extra points and xps.

These are just few of the games that I enjoy as well as my daughters. Yes, I allow my kids to play with the gadget, as long as I am around. And with time limit.

2011: Thank You!

I know...I know... It is the second week of January 2012 and yet here I am for my top 5 for which I was supposed to blog on the last day of December but due to my hectic schedule I wasn't able to do so. As the saying goes, better late than never. (hahaha!)

My top 5 for this week will what I'm THANKFUL for the past year:

1. THE HEALTH OF MY KIDS, HUBBY AND MINE AS WELL
Let's admit it people it is really expensive to get sick nowadays. Prices of medicines are really high plus if one of the family member gets hospitalized, daig pa ang metro ng taxi sa bilis. This is why my whole family have their respective vitamins so that we wouldn't get sick so easily.

2. MY BLOG
Yes! I am so thankful for this blog because I could share to other people the life of a STAY AT HOME MOTHER, in a one-income household. I am thankful to those people who followed me here. To the readers and sometimes they take time in leaving their comments. A heartfelt THANK YOU!!!!!

3. FOR A FRUITFUL YEAR FOR MY FAMILY
Let's just say that a bountiful of blessings came our way and for that I am thankful. With the blessings that was given to us, we decided to share a part of it by giving 3 noche buena packages last December 9 to the Cancer Warriors (Batangas) Christmas Party. Then we also decided to donate a certain amount to the Kapuso Foundation for the Typhoon Sendong victims. I know what we did are not enough but we believe the things we gave could be of good help to the families.

4. MY MOM AND BROTHERS
I am thankful to our Lord God for He never fails to guide my family. It has been 8 or 9 years since my father walked away and left us. We may be incomplete but with the presence of God in our lives, we are definitely happier and better than before.

5. FRANCIS
Let's just say that the past year wasn't a good one for me and Francis. I know that problems within the marriage usually comes and goes, big or small, if the couple would talk it over, it will be definitely be better than before. I am thankful to the good Lord for always lighting our marriage to a "BRIGHTER" path. Hoping and Wishing that this 2012 will be much better for us.

Christmas Traditions of Filipinos.

It is exactly 11 more days before Christmas and for my Top 5 this week I would like to share some of the Christmas traditions of Filipinos.

1. SIMBANG GABI - This is a 9 day mass that usually starts at 4 in the morning. It starts on the early morning of December 16th and ends on the 24th also called as the Misa de Gallo. I had completed this 9 day mass, when I was in 4th year college. There is a belief that if one completes the 9 days of mass one's wish will come true. Did it happen to me? I believe so...

2. CAROLING - Usually a group of kids sings in every house they go to and they are given a certain amount by the people who listened to their songs.

3. PUTO BUMBONG & BIBINGKA - 2 of the favorite delicacies every Christmas, though even after Christmas there are vendors who sells these 2 delicacies. But one will definitely feel that IT IS INDEED Christmas when 1 buys either of the 2. My fave? Puto Bumbong...hahaha!

4. NOCHE BUENA - This is a time for the whole family to gather at exactly 12 midnight to eat and after that time to give and opened the gifts.

5. PAROL - I believe this is one tradition that every Filipino do, putting up a Parol. It symbolizes as the guiding light at Bethlehem.

Christmas Songs

Since Christmas is just 18 days away and Christmas songs can be heard in every radio station and in the malls. So for my Top 5 this week, I chose the Top 5 Christmas Songs that it get me (and probably all of us) in that Christmas mood.

1. PASKO NA NAMAN - Minsan as early as October, we can usually hear this being played over the radio and once we hear this most of us usually are in the "panic mode" and this means that literally the Christmas countdown really begins...

2. SILENT NIGHT, HOLY NIGHT - One of the "slow" kind of song that I really love to hear. And if my memory serves me right, it was the first song I memorized when I was a child.

3. RUDOLPH THE RED NOSE REINDEER
The ever famous song of the reindeer Rudolph. Kids and adults loves to sing along every time this is played.

4. JINGLE BELLS - Another "dance-able" kind of Christmas song that every body loves to sing along as well.

5. PASKO NA SINTA KO - The anthem of the SMP or Samahan ng Malalamig ang Pasko. To be honest once upon a time this became my anthem for so long until I met my hubby, Francis. I really love the song, kahit may asawa na ako. Hearing Gary Valenciano's voice singing this song, aaahhh...I know Pasko na...

How about you? Do you have any Christmas songs that would like to share? I would love to know it...

What are You Thankful For?

Tomorrow, November 24, Americans (and other citizens of the other part of the World) will be celebrating THANKSGIVING and since this occasion is not really recognized here in our country, I want to have my own Top 5 that I am thankful for and here they are:

1. GOOD HEALTH - Every time I go and hear mass or pray at night I never fail to Thank God for blessing me and my family with good health. Nowadays, it is kinda scary to get sick with all these viruses and diseases that surrounds us. I may have all the money in the world but I don't want to spend it on medications and hospitalizations. As one ad says: MAHAL MAGKASAKIT (it's is expensive to get sick).

2. FRANCIS VARGAS RACAL - I am so thankful to God for blessing (giving) me a husband who is intelligent, have a good sense of humor and cute husband. Francis is not only my husband, but my BEST-FRIEND, CRITIC AND PARTNER. I would never have it any other way or man for that one. Hehehe!

3. ARIELLE, JOIE & AMAYA - I am so thankful to God for giving me 3 beautiful and intelligent daughters. With my 2 older ones, we have conflicts, petty quarrels and all which is normal to any parent-daughter(s) relationship. But I am thankful as well for they, Arielle and Joie, do listen to me and at the same time I DO listen to them as well. With my youngest, siya ang taga-burn ng calories ko. For she is so very malikot, I really have to be there because once na tumahimik ang paligid ko for sure may ginagawa yan na ndi kaaya-aya STILL I love her. I do love my 3 angels.

4. FRIENDS & FAMILY Francis used to tease me when I was starting my FB because I have few friends that I usually accept and add in my friends list. This I told him: It is okay that I have a few friends because I know these friends of mine are the people I want to be with and that they are the only people I could be myself. With regards to my Family, no matter what happens at the end of the day, I know and I believe I could count on them.

5. MY LIFE - Cliche as it may sound I am thankful to God for giving me my life because I have made friends with people who have accepted me for who I am; I have a family who loves me for who I am too; and I have my husband and daughters who are my WIND BENEATH MY WINGS. I may be ONLY a housewife but I know to my family I am making a difference to them. I may be living a simple life with problems that I encounter (as a mother, wife and as a person every now and then), with "luho" that I and my husband, could afford, every now and then, I love my life and I am THANKFUL TO GOD for giving me a wonderful life and people I truly cherish and love.

What to do on a Rainy Day like this?

Lately it has been raining and to be it's kinda difficult to do things that one normally do especially it is a rainy day like today. Anyway here are my TOP 5 for this week. What I (and most of us) usually do on a rainy day (just like today)

1. STAY IN BED FOR FEW MORE HOURS
- Aminin especially on a school day like today, getting up to prepare your kids to go to school is really, really difficult. In tagalog, NAKAKATAMAD. But what I usually do is, IF my youngest is still asleep, I go back to bed and sleep a little longer... *wink*

2. SNUGGLE AND CHAT ON BED
- This is really a good time to chat, even for a short period of time, with the kids and your hubby. ( that is if it falls on a weekend, hahaha!)

3. SIP A HOT CHOCO (FOR THE KIDS) AND COFFE (FOR THE ADULTS)
- Since it will be too lazy to go out and drink coffee in the nearby Starbucks Coffee store, it is better to do it at home. For me and my hubby, a 3-in-1 coffee will do and Milo for the kids, okay na, nakatipid pa.

4. EAT CHAMPORADO
- Aminin! This is one staple food that shouldn't be missed on a weather like this. Lagyan lang ng evaporated milk, aaaahhhh, sarap.

5. DO A MOVIE MARATHON
- Either DVDs, VCDs, or in Cable Channel, as long as you are with your whole family, that will be more than enough to stay in doors.

What you usually do on a day like this? Share naman....

Movie Actors That Catch My Attention

I have to admit every now and then when you watch TV shows or movies, somebody will definitely caught (my) your attention. For my TOP 5 this week, I would like to share movie actors that "caught my attention". In short crushes. Hahaha!

1. TOM CRUISE - seriously?! Who wouldn't have?!
aminin at one point or another naging crush din
ng bayan si Tom Cruise.

2. BRAD PITT - Susme! Yun na ang reaction ko.
hahaha!

3. ALEX O' LOUGHLIN - Naman! The very
reason why I watch the series Hawaii Five - O

4. TAYLOR LAUTNER - Jacob Black in the house.
Ever since I read Eclipse, I went from
Team Edward to Team Jacob. (balimbing
na kung balimbing. hahaha!)

5. WILL SMITH - Who wouldn't?! I love him
in all the Bad Boys movies and I love him
especially in the movie Hitch. Handsome na
Matalino pa.

So these are my top 5 who really caught my attention all these times. How about you?

It's all about Me....

It's the 1st Wednesday of the month November. And for this week's top 5, it will be focused on myself (naks!). I want to share naman yung ugali/attitude ko, good and bad (ooohhh). I hope after listing my TOP 5, you will still come back and read my blog.... *crossing my fingers*

1. LOYAL FRIEND - buhatan na ito ng sariling bangko, but it's true. IF you're really my friend,
no matter what happens, walang iwanan sa ere.

2. IF I DON'T LIKE YOU, DON'T PUSH IT - sorry but it's true. Hindi sa nagsusuplada ako or what. Pero parang I have this feeling/instinct/gut na if I don't like you, I really don't talaga. Siguro for others after they read this, they will tell me, it's your loss BUT okay lang because I have a lot that I like in life already. And besides ako naman ang pwede magsabi who's who in my life. *wink*

3. I DON'T EASILY FORGET THINGS - hahaha! Di ba may kasabihan na FORGIVE AND FORGET. I could forgive you, BUT I won't easily forget what bad deed you have done to me, my family and my friends.

4. THINK BEFORE YOU SAY IT - Before I would say what I want to say not thinking if my words (or actions) will hurt other people. Francis taught me this, before you open your mouth be sure to think it over because whatever you will say, you can't take it back anymore.

5. I LAUGH OVER MY PROBLEMS - Weird ba?! Ito lang naman ang puwede natin gawin because problems come and go. Whether it is a small or big one. Besides this is one trait that we, Filipinos have. Even my mother in law loves to hear me laugh because nakakadala daws at parang walang problema. As what I usually reply: It is up to us how are we going to handle our problems. As if naman lulubayan tayo ng problema?!

So there you have it, at least one way or another you know me already. How about you?! Any good or bad traits you have and would like to share?

Scary Films

Since Halloween is just around the corner definitely my TOP 5 for this week is not that far behind. I decided to search the net and at the same time tried to remember which films that really scared the hell out of me. Yung tipong nanunuod ka ng nakakatakot sabay takip sa eyes with matching silip in between the hands. hahaha!

1. THE EXORCIST - Aminin readers, this is the movie na talagang
mapapatakip ka ng mga mata. Just thinking of the head-turning
of Linda Blair with matching mga tulo-tulo ng mga
nakakadiring ewan. Scary cat na talaga.

2. JAWS - Even though the movie is about the
deadly shark, everytime I hear yung pinaka-main
music ng movie, it gives me goosebumps already.

3. NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET - who would ever
forget the name FRED KRUEGER? Plus the killer
razor-sharp knives attached to the fingers on a glove
on his right hand. Scream to death na ito.

4. THE SIXTH SENSE - it is a psychological thriller movie
about a kid who believed to be having problem of seeing things.
His fellow classmates makes fun of him and only the psychologist
(played by Bruce Willis) could understand him. The ever famous
line of the movie is: I SEE DEAD PEOPLE.
- Scary for me kasi because of yung mga pabigla-biglang
may mag-aappear sa screen. hahaha!

5. THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE - though they say
that this movie is based on a true story, some says it's not.
This movie is said to be about a priest who was charged with
negligent homicide when he said that what he is doing is
exorcism.

These, for me are the scariest films I have seen. How about you? What are the scariest films you have seen?

Tom Cruise: The Ultimate Crush

It is time for my Wednesday's Top 5. This week it is all about my ultimate crush: TOM CRUISE. Aminin readers, one time or another you had a crush on this guy, way even the likes of Brad Pitt, Will Smith, George Clooney, Sam Milby and Piolo Pascual came along. As my eldest daughter puts it: Grabe! Mommy ang gwapo pa din niya.

So here are my TOP 5 TOM CRUISE movies:

1. TOP GUN - Who would ever forget Maverick and those cool Ray Ban Aviators plus the song
You've Lost That Loving Feeling. Any body who would see Tom Cruise in this movie will
definitely have this reaction: OMG!!!
2. A FEW GOOD MEN -
Lt. Kaffee: " I want the truth!"
Col. Jessep: "You can't handle the truth!"
This is the very scene that I like in this film and the very reason why I love watching this.
Although Jack Nicholson is the arch-enemy in the movie I still love how he delivered his
lines especially the court room scene.

3. MISSION IMPOSSIBLE(1, 2, & 3) - Ethan Hunt. A name one will never forget when
speaking of M.I. plus all the actions packed in every movie. Actually on December
Ethan Hunt will be back and I can't hardly wait to see him in action. Again.
4. JERRY MAGUIRE - "You complete me". I am sure a lot of men and boys have used this
this line a thousand times over. I love how the movie tackle the life of the sport
agent Jerry, his friendship with his client Rod Tidwell (played by Cuba Gooding
Jr.) and how he realized in the end how he REALLY love Dorothy (played by
Renee Zellweger)
5. RAIN MAN - It's about two brothers played by Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman, who is
autistic in the said film. It is a journey for both brothers that started in an
unsentimental journey but in the end they connected.

How about you, what is/are your favorite Tom Cruise film?

MY Top 5: Julia Roberts' Movies

It is that time of the week again. Time for my Top 5 and this time it's all about one of my favorite Hollywood actress, Julia Roberts and my favorite movies she starred in.

1. Pretty Woman - one of those classic movies that launched Julia Roberts' career as on of
A-List Actresses in Hollywood. A modern-fairy tale. The one scene that really stuck in my head when talking about this film is that when she went to Rodeo Drive wearing her "cheap looking outfit" while going on a shopping spree. She went to this store to shop but she was looked down
and turned down by the staff of the store. After a while she came back to the same store and she wasn't recognized anymore due to her very chic outfit. She told them that they made a HUGE MISTAKE of turning her away.
2. Mona Lisa Smiles - I love this movie. Julia Roberts plays a teacher trying to make a
difference in the lives of her students. She wants them to realize that after college they could have a career and not just become HOUSEWIVES who are just waiting for their husbands. They could be both, a career woman and a good wife.

3. My Best Friend's Wedding - If I remember it right, I watched this movie with Francis,
my boyfriend then. This movie made me cry. I love the part where she lent her theme song with her guy best friend to him and his wife as a wedding present.

4. Notting Hill - Who could ever forget the line: "After all. I'm just a girl standing in front
a boy asking him to love her." Imagine a successful actress asking an ordinary guy to love her. I know it's that kind of fairy tale movie, but hey we need to watch this kind of feel good movie, even once in a while.

5. Erin Brockovich - I love this film because it is all about a single mother of three trying
to make a living so that she could give her kids a life that is comfortable even if she is having a difficult time juggling time as a clerk in a firm and of being a mother. I love the character's being so feisty and her love to the people involve in the case.

How about you, what is your favorite Julia Roberts film?

My Top 5 Favorite Chocolates

I just thought of putting my own list of favorites here in my blog. Why Wednesday? To be frank I really don't know. So for my first Wednesday's Top 5 it's all about my favorite chocolate bar/candy. Yes I am a chocoholic, as in. So here are my Top 5 Favorite brands.
1. TWIX - Lately have rediscovered this chocolate bar after a long time. In a pack it has 2 bars in it. It is a chocolate coated bar with wafer in the middle and caramel. Eating a pack of this chocolate makes my day.

2. KIT KAT - I do love this chocolate bar candy. Eating the four-finger bars is enough for me to keep my energy up.

3. MALTESERS - Chocolate coated candy in a round shape with wafers inside. I love the sweetness of this candy. But 4 to 5 pieces is enough to keep me going.

4. 3 MUSKETEERS - This chocolate candy bar has caramel in between and it is so chewy that is why I love this as well.
5. CLOUD 9 - A local brand chocolate coated with caramel, nougat and peanuts. Even if it is locally made I love this one and it could compete with the imported brands.

How about you, what are your top 5 chocolate candy/bar?
