Teaching Aid For Amaya

Hello! I know it has been a while since the last time I posted. I apologize. It has been a hell week for me. With the field trip (another post for that), the swimming class of Amaya which I swear really takes a toll on me. As in after the class and all, as soon as I reached home, I really lay down, I am so dead tired. Anyways, enough of the blah, blah, blah. So what's with the title? Amaya is an English speaking child. I guess you can't blame me if I teach her how to speak the language. Please don't get me wrong, we are pure Filipino but I guess IT IS NOT A SIN to teach your child another language, since it is the ONLY OTHER LANGUAGE I know how to speak as well.

Though here at the house, as of now, with Amaya, all of us are trying to talk to her in Tagalog. She could understand if we talk in the native language but most of the times I have to translate SOME of the tagalog conversations here at the house. And since she is attending school already, Junior Kinder, part of the curriculum is the Pilipino subject. Let's just say she is confused between: BA, BE, BI, BO, BU and DA, DE, DI, DO, DU. So I went to this mini-mart at the public market and looked for booklets that could help her read Filipino words. And yes, I was able to find, A LOT. But I just bought 2 of the booklets.

These are the booklets I
am talking about, if you have kids having
difficulty reading in tagalog,
I tell these are 2 of the booklets
available to help your children.

So aside from the said booklets, I decided to buy blank flashcard and write all of the letters so that it will be easier for me to know if Amaya could really do this on her own.

I bought this marker to use it on

the blank flashcard, which can be
bought at the bookstore...

and this is how it looks like, after
you have written. Then you
could practice your kids doing the
PAGPAPANTIG...

Mommy Find: Artzooka Kit

Yesterday after the card giving at Silver Crest, Amaya and I went to SM to buy few things at the grocery. But as usual before we went straight to the grocery, we went to the toy section of the department store. Luckily as we were passing, the sales lady was stocking up their new products, Artzooka Kits and other DYI kits. So first is first, what is Artzooka? Artzooka is a show where the host named, Jeremie shows the kids of what they could do with old, stuff found in the house. Here in the local cable Artzooka is shown over at Nickelodeon  usually at 4:00 p.m during weekdays.

The Product that is currently
available at SM
So when Amaya saw this, she really begged to buy the product. The kit that we bought is worth 299.75. So After the begging and all, since she could do this on her own and besides she deserves a prize for making it to the honors list.
At the back of the kit shows
what is included in the box

The materials that Amaya
will be using for this Artzooka
project

There goes Amaya, pretty excited
to paint the rock and put the designs
on it as well

Amaya is mixing the colors on
the rock

Another project made by Amaya

To the  mommies out there who will purchase this kind of Artzooka kit, be sure to assist your child in doing such art craft. Be sure to put used bond papers or old newspaper on top of the table or where ever you prefer to do your craft. I hope that you will enjoy doing this, as much as Amaya did.

Rainy Days are Here Again

As a lot of people know, here in the Philippines as soon as July enters, everybody gets to get ready their umbrellas, raincoats, and rain boots for it is the Rainy Season.... But wait is it? Lately the hotness and humidity of the weather is really over the top, as the usual text I sent to my mom who is in Laguna, MOM IT IS SOOO FREAKING HOT AND DINAIG PA ANG SUMMER (WORSE THAN SUMMER). And if it will rain, it will just be few hours, swerte ka na nun (your lucky) and worse is just a few a droplets of rain.

Lately my 3 daughters have either cough, colds or worse asthma attack. So to avoid these, let me share some of my tips with you mommy/mommies:

1. ALWAYS let your kids drink vitamins, especially VITAMIN C. On my part, the pediatrician of my daughters prescribed either PEDZINC or PEDCEE.

2. Let your kids bring either an umbrella or a raincoat to protect them from the rain.

3. Since the weather is really on the "abnormal" side due to climate change, I usually let my kids bring an extra shirt in case they perspire too much, para ndi matuyuan ng pawis and avoid cough and colds.

4. I make it a point to include veggies in some of the menus that I cook especially during dinner time. My kids love broccoli, cabbage, carrots, kangkong (water spinach).

I know what I shared are just simple but I hope that it could help you one way or another.

Stay safe and stay away from fever, coughs, and colds.
