Graduation Ball Preparations

I should have blogged this last month but since I was really super duper busy during the last 2 weeks of March until the 1st weeks of April I wasn't able to blog at all. Obvious isn't it?! Hehehe! Anyway, I have a lot of stories to tell, ganito ata talaga pag mother. 1st stop, Graduation Ball of my eldest daughter, Arielle. Yes, you read it right, GRADUATION BALL. By the way, Arielle is just gr. 6. When I was in grade 6 we never had any grad. ball. After graduation, swimming na lang. On with my story. This first part of my story is the preparations of Arielle's Grad. Ball.

1st thing we looked for as early as February was the dress. Since Arielle doesn't like to wear a gown, we went looking for a COCKTAIL DRESS. Now here comes my dilemma, what the hell is a cocktail dress?! Hahaha! And as we googled it, and there it was. So we went to SM and looked around. The nicest cocktail dress we have seen will cost us 1,995.00 pesos. OM! One time lang gagamitin. So Francis decided to bring us to Robinson's and there we found the "perfect" cocktail dress for Arielle... And the price: 990.00 pesos only.... Yehey!!! We were able to save at least a thousand pesos. Here is the dress:

the cocktail dress

As the month of March ushered in, I decided to buy the shoes that will match the dress. Someone told me and Arielle that a silver heeled shoes will be the perfect "match" for the dress. This time we saw something nice at SM. And it was a great surprise for us again, kasi the shoes that my daughter liked was ON SALE. from 900.00 pesos we just paid 500.00 pesos. I believe lady luck is always with us every time we look for things...

the shoes...

The dress is ready as well as the shoes... Next stop the part itself. Well I guess that will have to wait. :)

Happy Easter....

Last night, it was a first time for me and my kids to attend an Easter Mass here at Mt. Carmel church. It started at exactly 8:30 in the evening with the blessing of the Paschal Candle by the priest. Of course the kids were sleepy during half of the ceremonies. But I told them to make this one an exception because this is the MOST CELEBRATED holiday in the Catholic calendar. And I was thankful enough that my 2 older ones bear with me except for my youngest... Siguro inip na to the max.

During the sermon of the priest he enumerated 3 things that we should remember and do to celebrate the life of our Lord Jesus Christ. I hope I remember it right though. Hehehe!

1. Don't worry to much... - What ever worries one has, alisin na. If you have any doubts at all, alisin na din.

2. What ever that you could do today, do it now for you will never know if you will still have time to do it tomorrow. One fine example is, LOVING. If you could love the person right now and give it more, then do it. Baka bukas wala na. If you could share or give your time to the most important people in you life(lives) do it now. Rather than regret it later of not doing it.

3. Forgive... Sabi nila you could totally forgive a person if you have forgotten the pain he/she has caused you. Among these 3 I believe the third part will be most difficult for me. I could forgive but I could not easily forget. haaay. I guess this is one thing I should practice.

Although I was sleepy during the 1st part of the ceremony but during the sermon I was really listening intently and trying to digest whatever the priest is telling us. And today as we celebrate Easter Sunday, let us not forget the essence of celebrating the life of Jesus Christ.

To you my blog readers, HAPPY EASTER. Let us rejoice and be glad that the good Lord Jesus has risen...

p.s. It is nice to be back as well...will definitely blog starting the coming week.

Welcome Summer....

The night we arrived from our family get away (click here) my brother in law, Garry told us that we are ALL going on a swimming the following day, Feb.26. He rented a pool somewhere in Pansol, Laguna for us. So that night after we arrived from Tagaytay, I started packing the towels, clothes. toiletries and other stuffs that we usually bring during an outing. And by the way we have to leave our place at exactly 7:00 in the morning. Just imagine the smiles of our kids, nephews and nieces plastered all over their faces. Here are a few of the picture of the pool that my brother in law rented just for the whole day. There are places there at Pansol Laguna that can be rented if you want the privacy of swimming and having a good time.

if you have any packed lunch or
foods to be cooked, most of the
places that can be rented have stoves and
grilling.

to those who loves to sing
there is a videoke and you
could sing your heart out...
just like my hubby

if you would notice, the caretaker

the toddlers.

Tagaytay

March. The third month of the year. Where did the 2 months have gone?! Time indeed really flies so fast (LITERALLY). This month is full packed already for me especially for my eldest daughter who will be graduating from elementary. Aside from that there is the graduation ball, practice for the graduation, plays and others. Whew! Just a mere mention of the things makes me tired already. So before my complicated schedule begins, I would like to share with you few happening(s) in my family (hubby's side). This is a 3 part story though. First off the list is our family weekend getaway when we went to Tagaytay last February 25.

It has been a while since the last time we went to Tagaytay. Hubby was suppose to bring us to Solenad but had a last minute change of plans (LITERALLY), and was so happy that the kids agreed to their tatay's IMMEDIATE plan of going to another place. Before we reach Tagaytay hubby decided to take our picture somewhere.

Me with my tres marias

looking our far....

By the time we got to Tagaytay proper it was past 6 in the evening already. Hubby decided to buy a burger at Mushroom Burger. Since my daughters and I are not really fans of the said burger, we all agreed to eat dinner at Summit Ridge. We were suppose to eat at Bacolod's Chicken Inasal when we saw this.

So we decided to try it out since my daughters love Filipino dishes. We ordered Tinolang Manok, 3 pieces of Pork Barbecue and Fried Chicken for my ate Joie. All the viands (ulam) have rice already. Since there are tables and chairs outside of the restaurant, we decided to eat there to feel the cool weather of Tagaytay.

the very hot and delicious Tinolang Manok
this order is good for 2 to 3 persons.

this was suppose to be 3 but since
I am hungry already I ate one.

After dinner we left Francis there because he was still finishing his report that was submitted on the Monday. My daughters and I were surprised to see that there is already a TIANGGIAN there. My 2 daughters bought 2 shorts worth 100.00 pesos.

This duo will keep you company whether you're
eating in any of the restaurants there
or doing some shopping at the
tianggian.

my youngest pleaded to me to buy
her a bubble which is just 35.00
so buy na para ndi na makulit. And
there she played with her 2 older sisters and
a little girl who was so happy with the
bubbles as well.

The girls and I had a grand time with our prince charming, Francis. The kids are hoping to go back there again.... Soon...

Happy to Blog...Again

Weird title though. Let just say it was kinda difficult for any bloggers for that matter to blog without any dsl connection to the internet. Yes there these broad sticks but I tell you if you have a weak signal it will really take you hours to make a blog and post pictures if you use one. Anyway, enough of that. I am just so happy that everything is okay and I could blog easily now. For starters, I have shared here a month ago of my current favorite book (click here). And now I would like to share with you some of my favorite lines/quotes from the book, Before Ever After. Warning: I do really have a lot to share, so please bear with me... ;)

"I said you weren't inconsequential. No one is. We change at least one person's live just by being born. If you do't believe me, go ask your mother" (Max)

"Which is why I appreciate sundials. They aren't as pretentious. It is the closest we can come to gasping what time really means. It moves on whether you wind it or not. It doesn't have a snooze button you can hit to bargain for an extra 5 minutes. The earth turns, the sun rises and sets, and there is absolutely nothing you or I can do about it" (Max)

"Where we are now is where a lifetime's worth of steps have taken us. Are we early for this moment? Are we late? Should we hurry back to the town house because your watch says so or should we linger as long as we can in the second where we stand? (Max)

"A kiss can be dreadfully terrifying for the males of our species. I'm afraid. Sex is easy. All they really need is a few good thrusts. BUT when they kiss, they open themselves up and let you in. And that my dear, makes some men's balls shrink to the size of raisins." (Rose)

"Yesterday flows into tomorrow,
Tomorrow tips over to yesterday" (Max)

"Most people promise each other forever when they get married. Max and I promised each other NOW because it's breakable and the only thing you can really hold in your hands. (Shelley)

"Everything I should see, I have seen. God has darkened the world outside so that I could see better by the lamp of my memory. Now is the time for me to reflect on the sights of God has chosen for me to remember." (Abbot Thomas)

"Growing old is to be set free. It is a slow and long-simmering process that extracts from you what you are really made of. But it requires acceptance. You cannot put a flailing chicken in a boiling pot. You must accept the heat and the pain with serenity so that the full flavors of you life may be released."
(Abbot Thomas)

"As the body rots, so does the cage that traps us in our worldly concerns. When my legs became too weak to carry my body, I stopped pacing with worry. When my fingers became twisted, I stopped pointing blame. When I lost my sight, I stopped seeing illusions. It may be dark in the pot that I am simmering in, but I can see more clearly than I have ever seen in my life." (Abbot Thomas)

"My dear you might be surprised at how much happiness you can find in the pages of the shortest of love stories. Unlike penises, their length truly does not count." (Rose)

"I have every reason to be sad, but I don't have any reason to mourn. People grieve when things end. NOTHING has ended tonight. One of us has simply gone ahead as we always knew it would have to be." (Rose)

"If you really understand the value of making memories with someone you love, why are you throwing yours away so easily? Everyone had someone to experience the journey with." (Dex)

"Yes, because when I've forgotten everything else, I'll feel that ache...that tightness in my throat...that heaviness in my chest...And I know that I loved a woman once and she loved me back. It's proof that I existed & so did she."
(Dex)

"Dex's and mom's pain was not because their lives were without love. It was because their lives had been drenched in it. She had believed her mom was the saddest person she knew. Now she saw that her mom was, perhaps, also one of the luckiest. She had known a love worth mourning, a love worth remembering."

I hope these lines/quotes inspired you to think about your own life and about the love you have right now...
